After 20 years in church ministry, and 22 years of marriage, the unthinkable happened – my dear wife and ministry partner, Carrie, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.  This journey began in March 2023 and culminated with her meeting the Lord on September 10, 2025.  Through the Lens of Loss is a blog I created to share our story.  My prayer for these writings is three-fold: first, writing out my thoughts has helped me navigate the ongoing grief process; second, I hope these entries will give insight to my dear Legacy Church family that is always so gracious to pray for and encourage me; finally, I hope to be an encouragement to those going through their own grief journey on the way to a new season of life.
